MINUTES
AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD
TUESDAY, MAY 31, 1977
7:00 O'CLOCK P. M.
COX FIELD AIRPORT
PARIS, TEXAS
The regular meeting of the Airport Advisory Board was held in the terminal
building of the Cox Field Airport on May 31, 1977. Those in attendance
included:
1. Rick Rex - Chairman'
2. Wayne Clement
3. Lawrence Mann
4. Bill Boothe
5. Bruce Carr
Also present was Jim Collier, the Airport Manager.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Mr. I. N. Burchinal, Jr. had
not completed the formulation of his plan for the airplane museum; thus,
his presentation was deferred to a later meeting.
Mr. Clarence Hart's request for a permit for flight training was denied, as
the Board did not feel one was required under the present city ordinances.
It was decided that Mr. Hart did not use Cox Field as his primary base of
operations, therefore, the permit was not required.
Rick Rex advised the Board that he and Bill Boothe had conversed with Messrs.
Graves, Zipp and Payne who are employed by the F.A.A. in Fort Worth. The
F.A.A. representatives cautioned the City to be careful of changing the city
ordinances as they pertain to the airport so as not to jeopardize A.D.A.P.
funding that might be available to the City. The F.A.A. requested that we
preview any proposed ordinance changes with them to avoid any potential
conflicts with their regulations.
Bruce Carr advised the Board that a question has arisen regarding the status
of Paris for fiscal year 1978 funding under the A.D.A.P. program. The
question evolves from the present air service classification of the airport.
Representatives of the City and the Chamber of Commerce are working through
the elected representatives in Washington to resolve the issue.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Bruce Carr
Secretary
BC:kp
