U. RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Airport Manager could be employed by the city to operate the airport
including all services and concessions for the city.
This type of operation will not automatically make problems disappear.
It will take some of the workload off of the City Manager and Engineer-
ing Department. It will reduce the professional jealousy and friction
between operators.
Fuel prices could be reduced five cents (5¢) per gallon profit. In-
come in excess of operating expenses could be used for airport mainten-
Mfflcm
The airport should not be a source of revenue for the City; it should,
however, pay for itself except for Master Plan growth. An FAA survey
showed that 80% of the airports are not self- supporting. Those that
i are are mostly operated by the city rather than a Fixed Rase Operator.
II. For Cox Field 500 lbs o-4' Dry chemical will be adequate.
Chemical tank could be mounted on a pick -up truck and then be used for other
purposes.
r
