MINUTES
AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD
TUESDAY, JULY 31, 1979
7:15 O'CLOCK P. M.
PARIS, TEXAS
The Airport Advisory Board met in regular session at Cox Field Airport on
Tuesday, July 31, 1979 at 7:15 p.m., with the following members present:
1. Rick Rex - Chairman
2. James Moseley
3. T.D. Mallison
4. Joann Ondrovik- Burress
5. Allie O'Brien
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rex and the minutes were approved
following correction of paragraph one, on page 2 from, "Phase I improvements
be approved and presented by Mr. Hayter." and correction of page 2, number 2,
last paragraph to add closing quotation marks to, seconded by Mr. Moseley, to
"revise the Master Plan as presented by Mr. Hayter."
Old Business:
1. Report on construction of T- Hangers: The airport manager was not present
but Mr. Rex noted that Fasken, et al had their hanger slab poured, indicating
progress toward completion.
2. Recommendation on rental fees for new City T- Hangers.
Following a lengthy discussion of methods for assessing equitable rental fees
for both New and Old City Hangers and taking into consideration recodery of
building costs over a 15 year period as well as a comparison of closed vs.
open hangers, the Board agreed that in the long run the full cost approach
would be desirable. (1% per month). A motion was made by T.D. Mallison and
seconded by Jarxes Moseley that rental fees for the 13 New Open Hangers be set
at $45.00 per month, effective when available, rental fees on the six older,
closed hangers be raised from $50.00 to $55.00 effective September 1, 1979.
The Board recommends that rental fees be reviewed at each November Board
meeting for the next calendar year.
The motion carried with one opposing vote by Allie O'Brien who recommended
higher rental fees be charged for both new and old hangers.
