MINUTES <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />AUGUST 4, 1975 <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met in regular session at 7000 P.M., <br />Monday, August 4, 1975, in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas with <br />the following members present <br />1. Clark Estes, Jr. - Chairman <br />2, Raymond 7'. Fuller <br />3. James M. Lynch <br />4� Herschel McKinney <br />5. R. B. Staples, Jr. <br />Chairman Estes called the meeting to order and welcomed Mr. Lynch to his first <br />meeting as a new member of the Con - mission. <br />After the Minutes of July 7, 1975 were approved, Chairman Estes stated that <br />Item No. 1 on the Agenda, the petition of Mrs. Pauline Butler, had been with- <br />drawn by the applicant. As a formal procedure Mr. Fuller moved the with- <br />drawal be accepted and that no further action be taken on the matter. Mr. <br />McKinney seconded the motion and all voted aye. <br />The next item of business was a Public Hearing to consider the petition of <br />Mr. 0. L. Rainey for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District <br />No. 2 (SF_ 2) to an Office (District (0) on Lot 1, Block 1, Hayes Heights <br />Addition, located at 3011 Lamar Avenue. <br />Mr. T. K. Haynes, representing the applicant, stated that Mr. and Mrs. Rainey <br />were both in the Real Estate business and wanted to utilize the existing <br />house at the location for a home and office. <br />A petition signed by nine area property owners stating no objection to the <br />request was filed. <br />It was pointed out that Office Zoning existed on the property just west of <br />the Rainey tract. <br />There was no one else present either for or against the petition and follow- <br />ing discussion, Mr. Staples made a motion to recommend approval to the City <br />Council. Mr. Fuller seconded the motion which carried unanimously. <br />The next item of business was the petition of Mr. Sammy Short for an amend- <br />ment to the Site Plan on Lot 5, City Block 205, located on the southwest <br />corner of Bonham Street and 19th S.W. which is zoned Planned Development - <br />Shopping Center (PD -a). <br />
