MINUTES <br />CALLED MEETING <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />WEDNESDAY, JULY 19, 1978 <br />5:15 O'CLOCK P. M. <br />COUNCIL ROOM - CITY HALL <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The Board of Adjustment of the City of Paris met in a called meeting.Redueaday, <br />July 19, 1978 with the following members present: <br />1. F. D. Mallory, III - Chairman 3. Dr. James Moore <br />2. Dee Cunningham 4. Richard Nate <br />0airman Mallory called the meeting to order and the Minutes of May 24, 1978 were <br />approved as presented. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the petition of Lowry Carrington for a variance to <br />Section 9- 201(1) of the Zoning Ordinance, on Lot 13, City Block 253 -B, located at <br />2126 E. Polk Street was considered. <br />Mr. Carrington explained his desire to divide Lot 13 into two lots in order to have <br />an additional building site. The division would result in one lot having 60' front- <br />age and one with 55 foot frontage. The minimum lot width allowed in this area is <br />60 feet. <br />No one else was present to speak for or against the petition. <br />Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, stated there were several other <br />lots in the neighborhood that were less than the required 60 feet in width and that <br />the proposed lot met all other zoning requirements. <br />Following discussion, a motion was made by Mr. Cunningham, seconded by Mr. Nafe, <br />to allow the variance. The motion carried unanimously. <br />Next the Board held a public hearing to consider the petition of Jack L. Lynch for <br />a variance to Section 9- 501(1) of the Zoning Ordinance on Lot 8, Block 8, Hillcrest <br />Addition located at 2345 Briarwood Drive. <br />Mr. Lynch was present and stated he wanted to construct a double carport in front <br />of his house to protect his 3 vehicles. The front of the carport would be 5 feet <br />from the property line instead of the required 25 feet. <br />There was no one else in attendance to speak on the matter and Joe McCollum related <br />to the Board, the objection of Mamie Fisher, 2415 Briarwood, who was unable to <br />attend the meeting. <br />
