L. Rainey for a <br />variance to Ordinance No. 1710, Section 9-301, Lot Depth Requirements in a <br />proposed subdivision of part of Lots 1.4 and 20, City Block 196 located <br />batweon Robin Road and Latrat� Avenue at the east end of Houstop Street. <br />Mr. Don McLaughlin, Attorn%,, spoke for Mr. Rainey stating that his request <br />for a dev�,atiun from the strict adherence to the Zoning Ordinance was <br />based on the following: <br />1. Due to the location of the property and its limitation in <br />width, a 50' wide ,.treet right of way and 100' min Baum <br />depth lots cannot be provided for on 10 of 'the proposed 18 <br />lots in the subdIvIle-Ion. <br />2. Effort had been ma(Te to obtain additional land on the south <br />side of this property to comply with the Ordinance. Of the <br />four properties foi, which an offer was mad,,,-, to purchase, two <br />uvuld not sell and the other tw offered to sell at a price <br />Mir. Rainey could not pay. <br />3. Mr. Rainey Is willfng to place restrictions on the property <br />to Insure a deiellopment equal to the adjacent property. <br />Mr. McLaughlin read the proposed restrictions and stated that they could be <br />enforced by any property osier trithIn the addition or contiguous to it. <br />He ended his statement by szIyIng his client tms entitled to some use of his <br />property and his proposal was reasonable. <br />Attorney Webb Blard, speaking for some of the area residents adjacent to the <br />property, stated that regareles,- of the type of house proposed, his clients <br />grace opposed to lots of this size. They believe that their substantial <br />inves•Ev.ent. in their hm.4es muld be Oevalued by substandard size lots. He <br />further Stated his belief bait additional Irind from those properties facing <br />Lamar Avenue could be purches-ed. <br />
