REPORT OF MEETING OF
<br />BUILDING HAZARD INSPECTION COMMITTEE
<br />The Building Hazard Inspection Committee met at 10:00 o'clock A.M., March 14, 1997,
<br />in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas. Present were Chairman Steve Methven and
<br />Committee members Steve Burgin and Earl Smith. Also present were fire Marshal, Rick Evans;
<br />Code Enforcement Officer, Mike Alexander; and Legal Secretary, Alice Pinalto.
<br />The meeting was called to order by the Chairman and the following properties were
<br />discussed:
<br />1. 838 East Price Street, Lot 6, City Block 30
<br />A picture was introduced of same, not within fire limits, wood frame construction, and
<br />vacant. The house is in need of major repair to interior partitions, and minor report to windows
<br />and exterior walls. Leslie Shirley, owner, appeared. Earl Smith made a motion that 60 days
<br />be given to make necessary repairs, Steve Methven seconded, passed 3 -0.
<br />2. 234 12th Street, NE, Lot 9, City Block 32
<br />A picture was introduced of same. No one appeared on behalf of owner. Steve Methven
<br />made motion to delete this property from the dilapidated list since the repairs are minor and the
<br />structure is not hazardous, Earl Smith seconded, passed 3 -0.
<br />3. 235 12th Street, NE, Lot 4, City Block 32 -A
<br />A picture was introduced of same. Elbert D. Pointer, owner, appeared. Steve Methven
<br />made motion to delete this property from the dilapidated list since the repairs are minor and the
<br />structure is not hazardous, Earl Smith seconded, passed 3 -0.
<br />4. 1537 East Houston, Lot 6, City Block 33 -B
<br />A picture was introduced of same. No one appeared in behalf of owner. Steve Methven
<br />made motion to delete this property from the dilapidated list since demolition permit obtained
<br />prior to the hearing, Earl Smith seconded, passed 3 -0.
<br />5. 1524 East Price, Lot 31, City Block 33 -D
<br />A picture was introduced of same. Emmanuel Beaudin, owner, appeared. Steve Methven
<br />made motion to delete this property from the dilapidated list since repairs have been made, Steve
<br />Burgin seconded, passed 3-0.
<br />6. 440 Pine Bluff, Lot 7, City Block 37
<br />A picture was introduced of same, not within fire limits, wood frame construction, and
<br />vacant. The house is in need of minor repair to windows, foundation, flooring, exterior walls,
