CODE ENFORCEMENT - CAPITAL EQUIPMENT NEEDS
1002 Equipment
,Computer
$1,500.00
Wide carriage printer
550.00
Scanner
300.00
Lap top Computer
1,700.00
Digital Camera
700.00
Computer
The computer is needed due to the age of the one in his office. This machine is not Y2K
compatible and is so small that it has trouble running windows based programming.
Wide carriage printer, Code Enforcement
550.00
Mike has to print statistical information, housing lists, mowing lists, etc. that require a wide
carriage printer. He is no longer able to use the one he has (hand -me -down) because it is not
compatible with Windows based programing.
Scanner
300.00
This is an item requested by Mike in order to keep files on property on computer. He
accumulates many documents from other agencies and field work that needs to be maintained for
reference. These items include photographs, legal descriptions, tax information, receipts for
mowing and other maintenance, letters from owners, notes from other departments and
management, court appearances and a host of other articles. All are kept currently but must be
stored in paper files. Meanwhile his work is available on the computer. To thoroughly research
a particular case, one has to access both files. While the scanned documents will still be stored
manually, the computer scanner will allow total review in one application.
Lap top Computer; Code Enforcement Officer 1,700.00
Mike has requested this so that the data needed for code enforcement can be entered and
compiled in the field. This will save duplication of effort and do away with the hand notes. I
agree. Additionally Mike works a lot in the evenings. This will allow him to be versatile and at
least be at home with his family.
Digital Camera 700.00
This is for the Code Enforcement officer. He has one of the original cameras and requests this as
an upgrade. The original only takes 40 photos and then has to be downloaded by a pc computer.
Late model cameras have been developed which use a standard diskette to record the photo data.
Using this type of camera will allow the officer to use the camera with unlimited capability.
