Malone, City Manager Subject: Amendments to City Manager's Proposed 1999 -2000 Budget Date: September 3, 1999 In consideration of input received during Budget Committee meetings, and in order to provide more time for careful consideration and consensus building regarding alternatives to the handling of solid waste in the City of Paris, I propose the following amendments to the budget presented for fiscal year 1999 -2000 for the City of Paris: Reductions: Reduce account 01- 1002- 44 -99; Machinery, Tools, Equipment; in the Sanitation Division from $103,500.00 to $0., eliminating the purchase this year of two thousand 90 gallon containers for side arm truck and a trash container dump device. (Reduced by $103,500.00) Reduce account 01- 0508- 44 -00; Lease and Rental - Equipment; in the Sanitation Division from $195,000.00 to $190,200.00, reducing the lease /purchase cost of a sanitation truck by the difference in the cost of financing a rear loading truck instead of the side loading truck originally proposed. (Reduced by $4,800.00) Reduce account 01- 0305- 11 -00; Court Cost - Special Service Fees; in the City Council Department from $117,400.00 to $50,000.00, reducing the funds available for expenditure for legal representation and lawsuit costs. (Reduced by $67,400.00) Reduce account 01- 0101- 12 -00; Salaries and Wages; in the City Manager Department from $107,890.00 to $103,637.00, reducing the funds available for salary. (Reduced by $4,253.00) Reduce account 01- 0101- 21 -00; Salaries and Wages; in the Finance - Accounting and Auditing Department from $196,885.00 to $192,931.00, reducing the funds available for salary. (Reduced by $3,954.00) Reduce account 01- 0101- 31 -00; Salaries and Wages; in the Police Department from $2,337,000.00 to $2,333,676.00, reducing the funds available for salary.
