There <br />is a lot of truck traffic from Delta Logistics and Rogers -Wade <br />Manufacturing Company. City Manager Malone advised that the PEDC <br />will consider funding one -half of this project and wishes the City Council <br />to fund the other half and this would be one possible use of these funds. <br />These funds could be used for street rehabilitation, hotmix overlay, or <br />whatever the Council decided appropriate. <br />The City Manager also advised that he had increased the Contingency <br />to the General Fund from $250,000.00 to $277,023.00. <br />City Manager Malone said that he had placed an additional $50,700.00 <br />into the Parks and Recreation Department budget for a special project. <br />City Manager Malone said there is a petition being circulated by kids <br />regarding skateboarding and their desire to have a place to skateboard, <br />so this might be a possible project to be considered. Mr. Townsend has <br />been pulling together information regarding this possible project. <br />City Manager Malone said that some of the reductions were in the Water <br />and Sewer Fund, and he balanced this out by placing funds into Meters <br />and Meter Boxes in the Water and Sewer Fund as they continue to try to <br />replace the all of the meters with the new touchread type. <br />City Manager Malone advised that the City Council has awarded a bid for <br />a car this year and that the vendor is unable to deliver it, so, on Monday <br />night he is going to propose that the carry that the money for this <br />purchase be carried forward. City Manager Malone said that the <br />company is going to give us a car that meets our specifications, but <br />instead of being a 1999 model, it will be a 2000 model and will be <br />delivered in November. <br />Chairman Pfiester asked about the investigation regarding the Health <br />Department. City Manager Malone said that he had talked with the <br />County Judge and they have not made any decisions or changes of the <br />septic tank fees. City Manager Malone said that even if they had, it <br />would not make a significant impact on the budget.
