i� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-011 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris <br />recognizes the importance of the Lamar County CARE coalition <br />of Education, Business and Industry to the citizens of Lamar <br />County; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lamar County CARE Coalition of Education, <br />Business and Industry is a catalyst to provide excellence in <br />education through the building of partnerships among <br />families, schools, business, industry and communities <br />following the National Education Goals of the America 2000 <br />Education Strategy; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris expresses <br />its support for the Lamar County CARE Coalition of Education, <br />Business and Industry in its quest to promote relevant <br />academic programming appropriate to better prepare students <br />for employment and higher education requirements of the <br />twenty -first century; and, <br />WHEREAS, a Summit has been planned for March 5, 1992, to <br />develop an education strategy to implement these goals by the <br />year 2000; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />that the City of Paris hereby accepts the purpose and vision <br />statements of the Lamar County CARE Coalition and is willing <br />to commit necessary resources to become active participants <br />in the Lamar County CARE Coalition of Education, Business and <br />Industry. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution <br />be delivered to the officials of the -Lamar County CARE <br />Coalition of Education, Business and Industry. <br />Passed and adopted this 24th <br />ATTEST: <br />E! t M <br />APPROVED A 0 FORM: <br />T.
