Describe the condition of the collection /conveyance system including <br />lift stations (i.e.age of sewer, infiltration /inflow etc.) system consists <br />of 182.76 mi of 6" thru 30" sewers. Age varies from about 50 years old <br />to brand new. Significant work being done to eliminate major inflow <br />problems in oldest sections <br />C. What sewerage system improvements does the community have under <br />consideration for next 10 years ?Line segment replacements to renew old, <br />troublesome sections allowing inflow. <br />D. (1) List the theoretical design life of the plant._ 50 years <br />(2) List what you believe is the remaining useful life of the <br />wastewater treatment facilities in light of development and <br />maintenance /condition of the facilities: Approximately 20 years. <br />(3) Explain basis for estimate of remaining useful life: Assuming 5% <br />growth per year average, it would take approximately 20 years to <br />reach BOD, TSS capacity of plant from averages received today. <br />E. What problems, if any, have been experienced over the last year that <br />have threatened collection or treatment of wastewater? •A major flooding <br />incident prevented normal emergency response to widespread power outage <br />and lift stations. Modifications to emergency response-program will <br />prevent repeat occurrances. <br />21 <br />
