f� ✓� J <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING Of THE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 5, 1988 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Thursday, <br />May 5, 1988, 5:15 P. M., Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas. Mayor <br />Billy Joe Burnett called the meeting to order with the following <br />Councilmen present. _Eric Clifford, Travis Wortham, and Marshall H. <br />Kent, Jr. Also present was City Manager, Michael E. Malone, City <br />Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, Mattie Cunningham. <br />Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, appeared before the <br />Council and presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission's meeting held on April 2, 1988, and attached hereto as part <br />of these minutes as exhibit A. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open to consider the petition <br />of Ever Hilliard for a change in zoning from a Multi- Family Dwelling <br />District No. 1 (MF -1) to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 9, City <br />Block 102 -C located at 117 S. E. 16th Street. <br />Councilman Bone entered the Council chambers and assumed his seat at <br />the Council table. <br />Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear, and Mrs. Ever Hilliard <br />appeared stated she has a dental lab. at 532 Lamar Ave, and wants to <br />expand her business by purchasing property at 117 S.E. 16th which <br />presently has a 12x9 building , and Mrs. Hilliard wishes to enlarge the <br />building by adding a 16x10 portion to the building. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear, none appeared and the <br />public hearing was declared closed. <br />Councilman Fendley entered the Council Chambers and assumed his seat at <br />the Council table. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman Kent <br />for approval of the zoning change, and called for the preparation of an <br />Ordinance to be presented at the next regular council meeting. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of H -W <br />Investments for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District <br />No. 2 (SF -2) to a Commercial District (C) on part of Lot 14, City Block <br />259 located south of Loop 286 N. E. between Collegiate Drive and 31st <br />N. E. <br />Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, advised that the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission had denied approval of the petition of <br />H -W Investments, and had discussed Planned Development zoning for the <br />tract of land. <br />Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear, and Don Wilson, 3110 <br />Stacy Lane, appeared before the Council apologizing to the people in <br />the areas for not appearing at the Planning and Zoning Commission's <br />
