f� ✓� J MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING Of THE CITY COUNCIL May 5, 1988 The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Thursday, May 5, 1988, 5:15 P. M., Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas. Mayor Billy Joe Burnett called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present. _Eric Clifford, Travis Wortham, and Marshall H. Kent, Jr. Also present was City Manager, Michael E. Malone, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, Mattie Cunningham. Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, appeared before the Council and presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission's meeting held on April 2, 1988, and attached hereto as part of these minutes as exhibit A. Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open to consider the petition of Ever Hilliard for a change in zoning from a Multi- Family Dwelling District No. 1 (MF -1) to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 9, City Block 102 -C located at 117 S. E. 16th Street. Councilman Bone entered the Council chambers and assumed his seat at the Council table. Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear, and Mrs. Ever Hilliard appeared stated she has a dental lab. at 532 Lamar Ave, and wants to expand her business by purchasing property at 117 S.E. 16th which presently has a 12x9 building , and Mrs. Hilliard wishes to enlarge the building by adding a 16x10 portion to the building. Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear, none appeared and the public hearing was declared closed. Councilman Fendley entered the Council Chambers and assumed his seat at the Council table. A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman Kent for approval of the zoning change, and called for the preparation of an Ordinance to be presented at the next regular council meeting. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open on the petition of H -W Investments for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Commercial District (C) on part of Lot 14, City Block 259 located south of Loop 286 N. E. between Collegiate Drive and 31st N. E. Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development, advised that the Planning and Zoning Commission had denied approval of the petition of H -W Investments, and had discussed Planned Development zoning for the tract of land. Mayor Burnett called for proponents to appear, and Don Wilson, 3110 Stacy Lane, appeared before the Council apologizing to the people in the areas for not appearing at the Planning and Zoning Commission's
