.,6 <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Fendley, seconded by <br />Councilman Wortham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 5 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett announced that the Council would go back to item 3D - <br />Report from the Street and Drainage Committee. Mayor Burnett reported <br />that City Engineer, Earl Smith had presented a drawing of the area to <br />the Committee along with a recommendation to correct the drainage <br />problem, and it was the recommendation of the Committee that this be <br />presented to the Council to do the project if funds were available with <br />Public Works doing the work. <br />Gary Waite, Attorney, appeared before the Council representing Mr. and <br />Mrs. Glendon Gordon, 2195 W. Shiloh located at 22nd and Shiloh. Mr. <br />Waite told the Council that the Gordon's problem was in current need of <br />relief immediately, and requested that something be done as soon as <br />possible. <br />City Manager Malone advised there was a problem with funds, this <br />project could be placed in the 1988 -89 budget, and any positive <br />information will be brought before the Council. <br />Mayor called for the canvas of the returns of the City's General <br />Election held on May 7, 1988 for electing the Councilmen from District <br />No. 1, 2, 3, & 6. The returns were presented by Mayor Burnett and were <br />read aloud. <br />Resolution No. 88 -039 declaring the results of the City's General <br />Election held on May 7, 1988. That from the above canvass of the <br />returns of the votes in the four respective voting boxes in such <br />election, it is declared and determined that Travis Wortham is the <br />person receiving the highest number of votes of the votes cast at such <br />election for Councilman from Ward One; that Rondie L. Williams is the <br />person receiving the highest number of votes of the votes cast at such <br />election for Councilman from Ward Two; that William E. (Bill) Davidson <br />is the person receiving the highest number of votes of the votes cast <br />at such election for Councilman from Ward Three; and E. W. (Bill) Booth <br />is the person receiving the highest number of votes of the votes cast <br />at such election for Councilman from Ward Six was presented. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Fendley, seconded by Councilman Clifford for <br />approval of the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
