Section 9. The pay of the judges and clerks of said <br />election is hereby authorized and established as follows: <br />$5.00 per hour for each judge and clerk; the election judge <br />who delivers the returns of said election immediately after <br />the votes have been counted to the proper office shall be <br />paid an additional sum of $25.00 for that service, provided <br />also, he shall make return of all election supplies not used <br />when he makes returns of such election. <br />Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of <br />Paris in regular meeting, at the City Hall of said City, on <br />this 8th day of February, 1988. <br />Bi 'e Burnett, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Mattie Cunningham, Cit Clerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />K, ayn s, Cit Attorney <br />Resolution No. 88 -011 provides for the City of Paris full support to <br />the establishment of an enhanced 9 -1 -1 Emergency Telephone Number and <br />the implementation of the 9 -1 -1 fee and surcharge in the City of Paris <br />and chooses to participate in the 9 -1 -1 regional plan in accordance <br />with Article 1432f was presented. <br />Bill Booth, District Manager of Southwestern Bell, came forth and told <br />the Council that this would be a positive step and assuming that the <br />City would be working with Lamar County to make this a County wide step <br />implementation of the 9 -1 -1 system. Mr. Booth offered to get more <br />information on this along with an expert to explain the system. Mr. <br />Booth explained that a dispatcher would have a machine where by when <br />someone made an emergency call, even if they could not talk, they could <br />detect where they were calling from because it would be printed on a <br />screen. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by <br />Councilman Kent for approval of the Resolution. The motion carried 5 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />
