Section 9. The pay of the judges and clerks of said election is hereby authorized and established as follows: $5.00 per hour for each judge and clerk; the election judge who delivers the returns of said election immediately after the votes have been counted to the proper office shall be paid an additional sum of $25.00 for that service, provided also, he shall make return of all election supplies not used when he makes returns of such election. Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris in regular meeting, at the City Hall of said City, on this 8th day of February, 1988. Bill Booth, District Manager of Southwestern Bell, came forth and told the Council that this would be a positive step and assuming that the City would be working with Lamar County to make this a County wide step implementation of the 9 -1 -1 system. Mr. Booth offered to get more information on this along with an expert to explain the system. Mr. Booth explained that a dispatcher would have a machine where by when someone made an emergency call, even if they could not talk, they could detect where they were calling from because it would be printed on a screen. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman Kent for approval of the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
