The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A Resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement for water and <br />sewer extension and service on Southwest Loop 286 with the Texas <br />Department of Highways and Public Transportation was presented. <br />City Manager Malone advised this has been requested by the Texas <br />Department of Highways and Public Transportation for participation with <br />them in installation of utilities to serve a facility on the S. W. Loop <br />which is not presently being served by water and sewer, after <br />negotiations with an Engineer /Architect in Austin, we have given you <br />the City Engineer's estimate of the cost of construction, and the State <br />has restrictions as to the amount of their participation which is <br />$74,890.00. City Manager Malone told the Council that if we do not <br />participate, the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation <br />will install private lines on their right of way from Bonham Street to <br />their site. The estimated cost to the City of Paris would be <br />$73,100.00 which could be less. City Manager Malone also advised that <br />the Resolution did not call for the pro rata provisions, and the <br />Council may want to table action. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Clifford to table <br />action on the Resolution. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Wortham and carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 88 -013 authorizing an emergency force account project <br />for the rehabilitation and modification of the following seven lift <br />stations, Campbell, Northwest Loop (Battle's), Old Bonham Road, <br />Woodard, 7th Street S. W., Toco, and Jefferson Heights was presented. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Clifford, seconded by Councilman Kent <br />for approval of the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
