Resolution No. 88 -014 authorizing the Paris Police Department to use
unmarked vehicles as they may deem necessary in order to facilitate
police investigative undercover work and other legitimate functions of
the police department was presented. A motion was made by Councilman
Kent, seconded by Councilman Bone for adoption of the Resolution. The
motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
Mayor Burnett called for consideration of and action on authorizing
advertisement for bids for purchase of a security gate at Cox Field
Airport.
Dick Boots, Director of Facilities, appeared before the Council and
advised that one of the main reasons for the security gate was to keep
the wrong people from entering the hangers area, or getting on the
airport property by means of this road. By limiting -to either key
operated or transmitter operated gate would solve this problem.
After further discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Clifford,
seconded by Councilman Kent authorizing advertisement for bids for the
security gate at Cox Field. The motion carried 4 ayes, 1 nay,
Councilman Bone voting nay.
