After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Bone, seconded by Councilman Kent to award the bid to TLCS in the amount of $17,320.00. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. Mr. Boots also discussed the walkway across a drainage area in Johnson Park explaining that the concrete was set down into the creek for safety purposes. Councilman Bufford requested information on the possibility of subcontracting the mowing of vacant lots and right of ways. Steve Burgin, Fire Chief reported that Mr. Huddleston has one tractor that is used during the summer months for mowing right of ways, and he hires a seasonal driver who does the actual mowing. This person is not able to cover all streets in the city, but the main streets and cut throughs. Mr. Burgin said we do contract the person and his equipment to do the mowing of the vacant lots. Mayor Burnett called for the tabulations of bids for one 1988 one ton Van Truck Chassis and Ambulance remount, and the following bids were presented: Southwest Professional Vehicles $31,587.00 Bridgers Coach Co., Inc. $26,655.00 Mr. Burgin reported that $20,000.00 had been budgeted for the ambulance remount, and taking the low bid of Bridgers Coach Co., Inc., they were over budget by $6,655.00, and stated this could be made up referring this matter to the Director of Finance.
