Bywaters Park <br />$3,483.00 <br />$3,840.00 <br />Plaza <br />$2,709.00 <br />$1,080.00 <br />City Hall <br />$ 967.50 <br />$ 230.00 <br />Paris Public Library <br />$1,935.00 <br />$1,320.00 <br />PJC Triangle <br />$ 870.75 <br />$ 370.00 <br />Chisum Memorial Park <br />$1,354.50 <br />$ 510.00 <br />Paris Police Department <br />$2,515.00 <br />$2,400.00 <br />10th Street Park <br />$ 967.50 <br />$ 370.00 <br />Cox Field Terminal /Entrance <br />$7,740.00 <br />$7,200.00 <br />Total $22,542.75 $17,320.00 <br />Dick Boots, Director of Facilities, appeared before the Council and <br />advised that each location could be done individually, but the main <br />purpose was a request from the Council for him to check and see if <br />contract mowing could be done in order to save the city money by <br />eliminating a Maintenance I position in the Parks Department at a <br />saving of $4,725.00 in comparing the cost of $14,844.00 for the <br />Maintenance I position and $10,120.00 for cost of mowing the eight <br />areas in the parks plus there will also be a saving relating to <br />equipment and maintenance of equipment. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Bone, seconded by <br />Councilman Kent to award the bid to TLCS in the amount of $17,320.00. <br />The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Boots also discussed the walkway across a drainage area in Johnson <br />Park explaining that the concrete was set down into the creek for <br />safety purposes. <br />Councilman Bufford requested information on the possibility of <br />subcontracting the mowing of vacant lots and right of ways. <br />Steve Burgin, Fire Chief reported that Mr. Huddleston has one tractor <br />that is used during the summer months for mowing right of ways, and he <br />hires a seasonal driver who does the actual mowing. This person is not <br />able to cover all streets in the city, but the main streets and cut <br />throughs. Mr. Burgin said we do contract the person and his equipment <br />to do the mowing of the vacant lots. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the tabulations of bids for one 1988 one ton <br />Van Truck Chassis and Ambulance remount, and the following bids were <br />presented: <br />Southwest Professional Vehicles $31,587.00 <br />Bridgers Coach Co., Inc. $26,655.00 <br />Mr. Burgin reported that $20,000.00 had been budgeted for the ambulance <br />remount, and taking the low bid of Bridgers Coach Co., Inc., they were <br />over budget by $6,655.00, and stated this could be made up referring <br />this matter to the Director of Finance. W. E. Anderson explained that <br />of the money budgeted in Revenue Sharing Fund to go for purchase of <br />police cars, and as we have not purchased those at this time, with the <br />
