I <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />April 16, 1984 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in special session, Monday, <br />April 16, 1984, 5:15 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order <br />with the following Councilmen present: Donald G. Wilson, George Fisher, <br />Jeff Hoog, A. L. Ware, Gene McWaters, and Nathan Bell. Also present <br />were City Manager David H. Doty, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes and City <br />Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Graham announced the first order of business would be consid- <br />eration of an action on an Ordinance granting a franchise to McCaw <br />Midwest Communications, Inc. <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO MCCAW MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. A FRANCHISE <br />TO USE THE PUBLIC STREETS AND ALLEYS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, , TEXAS, FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING, AMPLIFYING AND DISTRIBUTING TELEVISION <br />SIGNALS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF THE BUSINESS AND PROVIDING <br />FOR PAYMENT FOR THE USE OF THE STREETS, ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />AND CONTAINING OTHER MATERIAL PROVISIONS AS SET FORTH BELOW. <br />was presented. Mayor Graham announced that the Ordinance must be passed <br />on three readings this being the first one. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Hoog to pass the Ordinance on <br />first reading. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 84 -024_ concerning notification of an agreement with the <br />ICMA Retirement Corporation to satisfy Internal Revenue requirements was <br />presented. A motion was made by Councilman Ware, seconded by Councilman <br />McWaters for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />x '1 <br />ti <br />
