oZ � <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY PARIS <br />May 14,1984 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, <br />May 14, 1984, 7:00 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to ordp-r <br />with th.e' following Councilmen present: George Fisher, Walter <br />Williams, Jr.., Nathan Bell, Donald G. Wilson, Billy Joe Burnett, and <br />Jeff Hoog. Also present were City Manager, David H. Doty, City <br />Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by Rev. Mermilliod. <br />Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to th.e minutes of <br />previous meetings and there being none, the minutes were approved as <br />presented: <br />Mayor Graham announced that nominations were open for the election of <br />Mayor. Councilman Bell nominated Joe Graham as Mayor for the year. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Wilson, and the nominations <br />were declared closed. The vote showed 7 ayes, 0 nays, and Councilman <br />Graham was elected Mayor. <br />Mayor Graham announced that nominations were open for the election <br />for Mayor Pro Tem. Councilman Wilson nominated Councilman Fisher as <br />Mayor Pro Tem, the motion was seconded by Councilman Bell, and the <br />i vote showed 7 ayes, 0 nays for Councilman Fisher as Mayor Pro Tem. <br />�-- Mr. Richard Herrington, Executive Director of the -Paris Housing <br />Authority appeared before the Council and discussed a plan for <br />disestablishment in the two housing projects of the City of Paris. <br />Mayor Graham declared th-e public hearing open on the rate increase <br />request of Texas Power & Light Company. No one appeared for or <br />against the requested rate increase. <br />The public hearing was declared closed. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the rate increase <br />request of the Lone Star Gas Company. No one appeared for or against <br />the requested rate increase, and the public hearing was declared <br />closed. <br />Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the request of James <br />Darnell for a Pro -Rata Contract for approximately 2,450 feet of water <br />line to serve Elk Hollow Addition. No one appeared for or against <br />the proposed Pro Rate Contract, and the Public Hearing was declared <br />closed. <br />City Manager Doty advised the Council <br />authorize a Pro Rata Contract on <br />recommended that the cost used for a. <br />front .foot. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Burnett approving the Pro <br />the $4.25 per lineal front foot. The <br />that if the Council desired to <br />the line, the City.
