MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL December 13, 1982 The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, December 13, 1982 at 7:00 P. M. Mayor Graham called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Donald G. Wilson, George Fisher, Jr., Larry P McGee, Gene McWaters, Jr., and Walter F. Williams. Also present was Acting City Manager, H. C. Greene, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and Acting City Clerk, Joe N. McCollum. Prayer was offered by 0. D. Robertson of the Bonham Street Church of God. Mayor Graham asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meetings and there being none, the minutes were approved as presented. Mayor Graham announced the first order of business would be consider- ation of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of Barney Bray III for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a General Retail District (GR) on Lot 26, City Block 249 located at 3070 Lamar Ave. Acting City Manager Greene advised the Council that office zoning had been recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission. A. W. Clem, Attorney for Mr. Bray stated that the Bray's had purchased j the property in the early 70's when the area was essentially residential in nature. Since that time, land use and traffic had changed making the property undesirable for residential. He stated that Office zoning was agreeable to his client. There was no one present in opposition and Mayor Graham declared the public hearing closed and called for the Ordinance to be presented. ORDINANCE NO. 2661 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING AN OFFICE DISTRICT (0) ON LOT 26, BLOCK 249, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO BARNEY BRAY, III, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (SF -2); AND[ESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE OFFICE DISTRICT (0) SO ESTABLISHED was presented. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Wilson for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Graham declared the public hearing open on the petition of Arch Hatch for a change in zoning from a Commercial District (C) to an Agricultural District (A) on Lot 2, City Block 188 -D located on the north side of Old Jefferson Road east of 8th S. E.
