Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing open for consideration of annexation <br />and appropriate zoning upon annexation of an 8.99 acre tract of land located <br />on the south side of U. S. Highway 82, approximately 1350 feet west of 46th <br />S. W. <br />Mayor Burnett called for opponents to appear and Mr. George Preston, Attorney, <br />representing James Brockway and Gilbert Graum and Mr. Lyle Muilens appeared <br />before the Council opposing the annexation and stating that the property of Mr. <br />Mullens had been in the City limits for some time and that City services of Gas <br />and TV service had not yet been provided. <br />Mayor Burnett declared the public hearing closed and advised that an introduction <br />of an Annexation Ordinance would be on April 5, 1982. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following referrals: Jesse Hall part of Lots <br />2 and 3, Block 2, Fitzhugh Addition from NS & SF -2 District to General Retail <br />District; Inncon Corporation, Lots 5 & 5A, City Block 135 from MF -1 District to <br />Office District; L. Z. Wilkerson, Lot 14, City Block 157 from MF -1 District to <br />Commercial District. <br />Mayor Burnett referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission for <br />their study and recommendations and called for a public hearing at the next <br />regular Council meeting. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council the Right of I-Jay had been obtained for <br />right turn land at 12th S. E. and Lamar Ave, and that the Traffic Commission had <br />approved and recommended the right turn land, and the City Manager recommended <br />the preparation of an Ordinance. A motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded <br />by Councilman McGee authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for a report from the Committee on Peddler & Itinerant Vendor <br />Ordinance. Councilman Graham acting as Chairman of the Committee presented a <br />proposed Ordinance, and recommended that the City Attorney review and the Ordinance <br />presented at a future Council meeting. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, <br />seconded by Councilman Graham authorizing the preparation of the Ordinance. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a request for LPG Propane Service Station for the <br />private use for Cabell Dairies, 1606 Lamar Ave., and advised that the Fire Marshal <br />had recommended approval of the request. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman <br />McGee approving the request. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Burnett called for the tabulation of bids for the Johnson Park Drainage <br />Project and the following bids were received: <br />Civil Contractors, Inc. $107,998.40 <br />Katy, Texas <br />Wise Sullivan $ 87,139.20 <br />Durant, Oklahoma <br />,-- David Buster Construction Co. $ 73,920.00 <br />Paris, Texas <br />Resolution No. 2147 authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City of Paris, <br />to execute the contract with David Buster Construction Company Inc., for the <br />Johnson Park Drainage Project was presented. A motion was made by Councilman <br />McGee, seconded by Councilman Kohls for adoption of the Resolution. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />. <br />i <br />
