e <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2157 <br />WHEREAS, the term of office of W. R. Phillips, M.D,, <br />as City Health Officer, did expire on December 31, 1981 <br />and his successor has not been appointed; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and appropriate that the <br />City Council of the City of Paris act under the authority <br />granted in Article 4425, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, and <br />appoint a City Health Officer; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris recommends the <br />appointment of Russell Burns, M.D. as City Health Officer <br />for a two -year term, beginning January 1, 1982; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, that Russell Burns, M.D., be, and he is hereby <br />appointed to the office of City Health Officer to serve <br />from January 1, 1982 through December 31, 1983. <br />Passed and adopted this 12th day of April, 1982, <br />Billy Burnett, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />H, C G ne, City Clerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />T. Haynes, City Attorney <br />Resoluiton No. 2158 designating the Interfaith Disaster Services of Paris and <br />Lamar County, Inc., for the receipt and disbursement of funds donated and <br />granted for the relief of disaster victims was presented.. A motion was made <br />by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Kohls for adoption of the <br />Resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes 0 nays. <br />
