1 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />January 8, 1979 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council., of the City of Paris was held Monday, <br />January 8, 1979 at 7:00 P.M. Mayor Malne called the meeting to order with <br />the following Councilmen present. B. J.,Burnett, Raymond Wunsch, Walter F. <br />Williams, George Fisher, Jr. Also present were City Manager, Robert W. Sokoll, <br />City Clerk, H. C. Greene, and City Attorney, T. K. Haynes. <br />Prayer was offered by Lt. Branson, Salvation Army. <br />Mayor Malone ask if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous <br />meetings furnished to the Council members. There being none,.the minutes <br />were approved. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the first order of business would be consideration <br />of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing.open on the petition of Mable <br />Burchinal for the change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District to a <br />Neighborhood Service District on Lot 9 and the east one -half of Lot 8, <br />Block 4, Poland Addition, located at 1523 Neathery Street. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and Mrs. Mable Burchinal appeared <br />in behalf of her petition stating that she planned to operate a beauty shop <br />in the neighborhood. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared, and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br />Councilman Farris entered the Council Chambers and assumed his chair at the <br />council table. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2427: <br />lu,4 <br />XIT ORD11MANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, -fib <br />TESAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; <br />ESTABLISHING A NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE DISTRICT (NS) ON LOT 9 AND THE EAST '12 <br />OF.LOT 8, BLOCK 4, POLAND ADDITION, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO MABLE BURCHINAL, <br />SO AS A TWO- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF <br />THE NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE DISTRICT (NS) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Councilman <br />Burnett for adoption of the Ordinance. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition of Mack Jones Jr.' <br />for a change in zoning from a General Retail District to a General Retail District <br />and Specific Use Permit - Commercial Amusement - Indoors, on Lot 1, City Block <br />270 located at 1320 Fitzhugh Ave. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and Mr. Mack Jones, Jr. appeared <br />in behalf of his petition stating that he wish to operate an amusement center <br />at the location. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared, and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br />
