RESOLUTION NO. 1931 . <br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Highways and Public <br />Transportation, in compliance with Section 203 of the Highway Safety <br />Act of 1973, has developed a program to improve passive protection <br />at public railroad grade crossings; and, <br />WHEREAS, said program is available to the City of Paris, with <br />no requirement for local funds; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it in the <br />best interest of the citizens of the City of Paris that the City of Paris <br />participate in said program, in order to upgrade crossbuck signs, num - <br />ber of track signs, advance warning signs and pavement markings to <br />conform with the standards specified in the Texas Manual on Uniform__ <br />Traffic Control Devices; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the City Manager of the City of Paris, Robert W. Sokoll, <br />be, and he is hereby authorized and directed, on behalf of the City of <br />Paris, to execute any letters, agreements or assurances necessary <br />for the City of Paris to participate in the State Department of Highways <br />and Public Transportation program to improve passive protection at <br />public railroad grade crossings within the City of Paris and to transmit <br />a certified copy of this resolution to B.
