1.0 5 2 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: - Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris; Paris, Texas, hereby declares, in the strongest possible terms, its overwhelming support for the efforts of the East Texas Gulf Highway Association to complete expansion of that thoroughfare designated as the Green Carpet Memorial Route into four -lane capacity at the earliest possible time, and implores the representatives of the Texas Department of Transportation Commission to consider favorably this request. Section 3. That the Mayor, City Manager, and all other necessary and appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to extend all efforts possible in support of this resolution and its goals. Section 4. That this resolution shall be presented to the Texas Department of Transportation Commission, and to all other appropriate State and Federal officials, whether appointed or elected, as an expression of enthusiastic support on the part of the City of Paris for said project. Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
