9'6 6 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002 -005 <br />1 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) <br />MODEL YEAR 2002, 4 -WHEEL DRIVE BACKHOE/LOADER FOR USE IN <br />THE WATER AND SEWER DIVISIONS OF THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of <br />November, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001 -183, authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase <br />order to the Houston - Galveston Area Council of Governments (HGAC) for one (1) Model Year <br />2002, 4 -Wheel Drive Backhoe /Loader for use in the Water and Sewer Divisions of the Public <br />Works Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, because the HGAC thereafter revised its vendor specifications and said <br />revisions failed to meet the City's minimum requirements for said equipment, the City Council <br />of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of December, in Resolution No. 2001 -202, <br />repeal prior Resolution No. 2001 -183 and authorize the advertisement for bids for one (1) Model <br />Year 2002, 4 -Wheel Drive Backhoe /Loader, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m. on <br />the 8th day of January, 2002; and, <br />WHEREAS, the best bid for such equipment was made by Future Equipment, 3600 Hwy <br />82 East, Sherman, Texas 75090, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That the bid of Future Equipment, 3600 Hwy 82 East, Sherman, Texas 75090, <br />for one (1) Model Year 2002 Extend -A -Hoe Loader for use in the Water and Sewer Divisions of <br />the Public Works Department in the amount of $64,989.19 is hereby accepted and let conditioned <br />upon said vendor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents, <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of January, 2002. <br />ichael .
