4455 <br />6. ensure that the following substances are included in the controlled substance testing <br />process: <br />Amphetamines Barbiturates Benzodiazepines <br />Cannabinoids (THC) Cocaine Metabolites Opiates <br />Phencyclidine (PCP) Propoxyphene Inhalants <br />7. where the employee's injuries prevent ordinary sample techniques and testing, initiate <br />a substitute sample technique, such as blood sampling and testing. <br />8. when conducting testing for non - safety sensitive positions, contact the mppropriate <br />City representative as soon as possible, but in-no event later than twelve (12) hours <br />after receipt of the employee's specimen, with initial test results and, if required, <br />within forty-eight (48) hours after receipt of the employee's specimen by the testing <br />facility that will administer the test confirmation. <br />9. when coordinating testing for safety sensitive positions, contact the appropriate City <br />representative within forty-eight (48) hours after receipt of the employee's specimen <br />with initial test results and, if required, within forty-eight (48) hours after the request <br />for test confirmation. <br />10. at all times, maintain confidentiality of test results. <br />C. PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITY - The Personnel Department will: <br />1. select the medical facility or facilities which will conduct collections and screenings. <br />2. inform an incoming employee, or when not required to be done by the employee's <br />supervisor, a current employee, of the City's controlled substance and alcohol testing <br />procedures and require that a CONSENT FORM FOR CONTROLLED <br />SUBSTANCE AND ALCOHOL TESTING be read and signed prior to sending the <br />employee for testing. <br />3. receive the screening results from the medical facility. <br />4. resolve concerns regarding the medical results of a positive test by: <br />a. contacting the Medical Review Officer and clarifying any medical questions, <br />disagreement, or uncertainty. <br />b. initiating any required testing of the employee's second specimen. <br />58 <br />Revised 01 -25 -05 <br />
