501 <br />SECTION 1— INTRODUCTION <br />Section 1.01- Mission Statement <br />The City of Paris is committed to the efficient delivery of quality services to its citizens. The City <br />fulfills the mission through personal and organizational commitment to the following values: <br />■ Accountability — accepting responsibility as stewards of public resources and investing pride <br />in our work; <br />■ Initiative — taking positive action to accomplish our mission; <br />■ Respect — treating each other with understanding and dignity and respecting our differences; <br />■ Development — enhancing our skills and increasing our knowledge to achieve our personal <br />best; <br />■ Communication — employees sharing and receiving information as appropriate; <br />■ Leadership — inspiring the vision, modeling the way and challenging the process; <br />■ Teamwork — approaching decision - making and problem - solving by involving all employees; <br />■ Continuous improvement — striving to be the best is a way of life. <br />We believe that our commitment is the foundation of all our endeavors to make our community a <br />better place now and for future generations. <br />SECTION 1.02 - Scope <br />These policies apply to all City employees and will be followed except where they conflict with <br />contractual «7)bligations, the Charter of the City of Paris, State or Federal Law, or the Rules and <br />Regulations of the City of Paris Civil Service System. <br />The City Manager, the City Attorney and the Municipal Court Judge are appointed by the City <br />Council and serve at the pleasure of the City Council, subject to any Charter provision or contractual <br />agreements that may exist. Consequently, these employees are not subject to these policies and <br />procedures insofar as the same are in conflict with Charter provisions or contractual agreements or <br />other ethical codes relating to such officers. <br />All positions other than the City Attorney and Municipal Judge serve at the pleasure of the City <br />7 Revised 01 -25 -05 <br />
