000742 <br />Regular City Council Meeting <br />May 27, 2008 <br />Page 4 <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Biard and seconded by Council <br />Member McCarthy. Motion carried, 7 ayes - 0 nays. <br />12. Deliberate and act on setting dates and times for workshops of city facilities and staff <br />development. <br />City Council scheduled training for Thursday, July 10, 2008 and Thursday, July 17, 2008. <br />They elected to engage in training sessions in the morning beginning at 8:00 a.m. and tour city <br />facilities in the afternoon on both days. <br />13. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to Resolution <br />No. 2004 -081. <br />None were referenced. <br />14. Deliberate on possible future- agenda items. <br />Council Member Strathern asked for an item on goals and objectives on the next two or three <br />agendas and that the City Council receive input from the City manager. <br />Council Member Pickle asked that consideration be given to bringing back the Charter Review <br />Committee for review of Article X. of the City Charter regarding the initiative and referendum <br />sections. <br />Council Member Biard asked for an update on Casa bonita Apartments. Kevin Carruth <br />informed Council it was already on the June 9' Agenda, as previously requested by Council Member <br />McCarthy. <br />Council Member Brown asked for an item regarding the maintenance of drainage ditches on <br />17`h Street. <br />Mayor Freelen announced that a racially equality meeting was scheduled for June 12, 2008, <br />at the Calvary Methodist Church and everyone was invited to attend. He also announced that the <br />Lake Pat Mayse Water Study Committee would be meeting on May 29, June 5, and June 12 beginning <br />at 4:00 p.m., and he encouraged citizens to attend the meetings. <br />15. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Biard and <br />seconded by Council Member McCarthy. Motion carried, 7 ayes - 0 nays. The meeting was <br />adjourned at 7:02 p.m. <br />
