DRAFT <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; <br />AMENDING SECTION 3 -5, CHAPTER 3 ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OF THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS TO ALLOW THE <br />SALE AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT LAKE CROOK <br />PARK DURING SPECIAL EVENTS WITH APPROPRIATE TABC PERMIT; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; <br />PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS <br />CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on May 9, 2011, ordinance 2011 -010 was passed to allow for the sale and <br />consumption of alcoholic beverages at certain events held at the Love Civic Center or the Red <br />River Valley Fairgrounds with appropriate TABC permit; and, <br />WHEREAS, the local VFW has requested a Special Event permit to host a chuck wagon <br />racing and other related activities at Lake Crook Park in April 2015 and annually thereafter; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, in connection with this event, the VFW has requested the City to allow the <br />sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages by TABC permit during the Special Event at <br />Lake Crook Park; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that Sec. 3 -5 of Chapter 3, <br />Alcoholic Beverages, be amended to allow the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages at <br />Lake Crook Park during Special Events permitted by City and with appropriate TABC permit. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: <br />Section 1.
