RESOLUTION NO. 2015 -013
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRIVATE RE -SALE OF SIX TRACTS OF
<br />TRUSTEE TAX PROPERTIES (CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 83, LOT 2 &
<br />2A; CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 84, LOT 16; CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 84,
<br />LOT 25; CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 84, LOT 26; CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK
<br />86, LOT 2; AND CITY OF PARIS, BLOCK 100, LOT 4) TO REV. JAMES
<br />PRICE FOR $1,800.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
<br />EXECUTE DEEDS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
<br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
<br />DATE.
<br />WHEREAS, 65 tracts of real property (the "Trustee Properties ") were bid off to the City
<br />of Paris as Trustee for itself, Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College at a public tax
<br />sale conducted on January 6, 2015; and
<br />WHEREAS, Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(1) provides that the Trustee
<br />Properties may be sold by private sale in lieu of a public sale under Texas Property Tax Code
<br />Section 34.05(c) & (d) with the approval of all taxing units entitled to receive proceeds from the
<br />sale, being the City of Paris, Lamar County, Paris ISD and Paris Junior College; and
<br />WHEREAS, Private offers to purchase ten of the Trustee Properties have been received
<br />by the City of Paris (the "Private Sale ");
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the City Council of Paris,
<br />Texas, that:
<br />Section 1. The offer of Rev. James Price to purchase the following identified Trustee
<br />properties for a total of $1,800.00 ($300.00 each) is accepted and the Private Sale is hereby
<br />approved:
<br />• LCAD #15130: City Of Paris, Block 83, Lot 2 & 2a, 1051 W Shiloh
<br />• LCAD #15184: City Of Paris, Block 84, Lot 16, 674 13th NW
<br />• LCAD #15192: City Of Paris, Block 84, Lot 25, 1127 W Shiloh
<br />• LCAD #15193: City Of Paris, Block 84, Lot 26, 1107 W Shiloh
<br />• LCAD #15204: City Of Paris, Block 86, Lot 2,1066 W Shiloh
<br />• LCAD #15499: City Of Paris, Block 100, Lot 4,930 8th NW
<br />Section 2. Subject to the Private Sale also being approved by Lamar County, Paris ISD
<br />and Paris Junior College, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a tax deed conveying the
<br />Re -Sale Properties to the Purchaser or designee.
<br />Section 3. The proceeds of the Private Sale shall be distributed in accordance with the
<br />Texas Property Tax Code and the orders of the District Courts of Lamar County, Texas.
