MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2015 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, February 2, 2015, was <br />called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Holland Harper, Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: Holland Harper, Jerry Akers, John Lee, <br />Barney Bray, James Price, Mike Folmar and Billy Trenado <br />B. Also present were Shawn Napier, Director of Engineering, Planning and <br />Development; Joey Sleeper, Building Official; Sue Lancaster, City Council; and <br />Ashley Fendley, Secretary for the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (January S, 201 S) <br />Motion was made by James Price, seconded by John Lee to approve minutes for the <br />January 5, 2015 meeting. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />Motion was made by John Lee, seconded by James Price to recuse Mike Folmar. <br />3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Paris Church of Christ <br />for a change in zoning from a Planned Development District (PD -a) which is a retail <br />shopping center in the Planned Development Zoning District to General Retail District <br />(GR) on Lot 1, Block A, of the Paris Church of Christ Addition CB 296, being located at <br />3175 Lamar Avenue. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Harry Kelley, Pine Mill Road Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. <br />Kelley stated he was seeking approval on the zoning change to extend the building <br />to have more room. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Barney Bray, seconded by James Price to approve the petition. <br />
