Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday March 03, 2015 at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Susan Hamby <br />2, Barry Shiver <br />3. Ken Kohls <br />4. Bill Sanders <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />Chairman Barry Shiver called the meeting to order at 5:16pm. A quorum was <br />established with four members present. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #2 regarding the approval of minutes from the <br />February 03, 2015 meeting. A motion was made by Ms. Hamby and second by <br />Mr. Kohls to approve minutes of the meeting. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #3 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning removal of no parking zone in 300 block Clarksville and adding <br />parallel parking. Mr. Tuttle informed members that City Engineer requested the <br />no parking zone be removed and parallel parking added to the north side of 300 <br />Clarksville from intersection of 3rd SE approximately 360' east to the drive of First <br />Methodist Church. A map was shown to members showing the proposed change. <br />After discussion Ms. Hamby made a motion to remove no parking zone and add <br />parallel parking on north side of 300 Clarksville as proposed. Mr. Kohls second <br />the motion and it passed 3 -1 with Mr. Sanders voting no. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #4 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning construction of sidewalk on N. Main St. from Catfish King to Johnson - <br />Burks Supply. Mr. Tuttle informed members that the city has received citizen <br />complaint from individuals using mobility devices. Mr. Tuttle stated the ground in <br />this area was soft causing the mobility devices to get stuck in the dirt. Mr. Tuttle <br />requested members approve a request to send a letter to TXDOT requesting <br />them to build a sidewalk from Catfish King approximately 150' south to the <br />Johnson -Burks Supply. After discussion Ms. Hamby made a motion to send a <br />letter to TXDOT requesting they build a sidewalk in the area mentioned. No other <br />members second the motion and it failed. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #5 regarding discussion and possible action <br />concerning placing four way stop signs at 31St SE & Clark Lane.
