Paris —Lamar County Health District
400 West Sherman Street, Paris, Texas 75460 -5646
C Health District: (903) 785 -4561
Par, dAMAR COUNIY Women, Infant and Children (WIC): (903) 784 -1411
nuTM oamrcr
Fax: (903) 737 -0978
www.parislamarhealth.com
Minutes of SPECIAL Meeting
Paris - Lamar County Board of Health
The Paris - Lamar County Board of Health held a SPECIAL meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 16tH,
2015.
In attendance were Dr. Mark Gibbons, Dr. Lance Wyche Dr. Keith House, Dr. William George, Dr. Rick
Erickson and Mrs. Kristi Graham. Others in attendance were Mrs. Gina Prestridge and Ms. Cheryl
Johnson. Mr. Bill Collins was not in attendance.
Dr. Gibbons called the meeting to order in open session at 5:33 p.m.
No minutes presented for approval.
Mrs. Prestridge advised she took a check in the amount of the lease payoff to New Hope to present to
their board. Mrs. Prestridge advised that she had not heard anything from Mrs. Charlene Dirks or her
attorney. Mrs. Prestridge is dealing with a few issues with Elda Francis, FNP, since she returned to work,
including combative and insubordination. Currently only seeing approximately one patient per hour and
does not want to double book appointments. The Paris -Lamar County Health District hired Mrs. Kristi
Carter to replace Mrs. Charlene Dirks as the clinical LVN and he first day was February 16th. We saw
approximately 1594 WIC patients, 313 clinical patients, 11 restaurants and 6 septic permits during the
month of January. The clinical numbers are down from 601 during January of 2014 to only 313 during
January of 2015. We must see at least 15 patients a day to keep our numbers up and our funding. We
currently have approximately a 50% no -show ratio, so we need to start doing a walk -in clinic. Mrs.
Francis does not see walk -in patients and does not like to fill any cancelled appointments. All patients are
called and reminded of their appointments the day prior if we have working telephone numbers. All
patients need to be seen for the one problem that they came for and then other appointments need to
be made. Our numbers were up last year and we had the same nurse practitioner and two nurses, so we
should be able to keep our numbers up and delegate some of the responsibilities out to the nurses. Mrs.
Prestridge and Dr. Amanda Green talked and decided to advertise for a part -time, 2 -days a week, nurse
practitioner to do a walk -in clinic. Dr. Wyche made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Erickson to
revise the by -laws to state the regular Paris -Lamar County Health District meeting will be held monthly
on the third Monday of each month. All approved.
The next meeting will be April 20th, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at the Paris - Lamar County Health District.
Dr. Gibbons made the motion and was seconded by Dr. House for the meeting to be adjourned at 6:00
p.m.
Respectfully submitted by:
e6etyfg. 906nson
Approval motion made by Dr. Erickson and seconded by Mr. Collins at the March 23rd, 2015 meeting.
