Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday April 07, 2015 at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. <br />Susan Hamby <br />2. <br />Barry Shiver <br />3. <br />Ken Kohls <br />4. <br />Bill Sanders <br />5. <br />David Ballard <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />Chairman Barry Shiver called the meeting to order at 5:19pm. A quorum was <br />established with five members present. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #2 regarding the approval of minutes from the <br />March 03, 2015 meeting. Mr. Kohls noted a needed correction in the minutes and <br />motion was made by Mr. Kohls to approve minutes after correction. A second <br />was made by Ms. Hamby and motion carries 5 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #3 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning removal of loading /unloading zone in 100 block N. Main. Mr. Tuttle <br />informed members that Laura Harper called and reported that she and her <br />husband had recently purchased the building at 134 -136 N. Main. She stated the <br />previous owner had a carpet business and utilized the loading /unloading zone. <br />Ms. Harper said they had no use for the loading /unloading zone and requested it <br />be removed. Mr. Tuttle informed members that the parking in that area is marked <br />as two hour parking. After discussion Ms. Hamby made a motion to remove the <br />loading /unloading zone and allow two hour parking. A second was made by Mr. <br />Ballard and motion carried 5 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver moved to item #4 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />concerning installation of stop sign at 19th SE & Margaret. Mr. Tuttle informed <br />members a citizen had made a request through the city traffic department for a <br />stop sign to be installed. Mr. Tuttle informed members this was a t- intersection <br />and usually stop signs are not required for these intersections. He also reported <br />only one accident had been reported at this intersection within the past three <br />years which did not involve a right of way issue. After discussion Mr. Shiver <br />asked for a motion and none was made. Issue failed for lack of motion. <br />
