Mr. Shiver then moved to item #5 regarding discussion and possible action <br />concerning installation of stop signs at 3`d NW & Houston, 1St NW & Houston, 1St <br />NW & Price, N. Main & Houston, and 3rd NE & Houston. Mr. Tuttle informed <br />members that city council had recently approved two -way traffic on Houston and <br />Price St. and these stop signs were needed for traffic control. After discussion <br />Ms. Hamby made a motion to approve stops signs and Mr. Sanders second the <br />motion. Motion carried 5 -0 <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #6 regarding discussion and possible action <br />concerning parking on Houston and Price Streets. Mr. Tuttle advised <br />consideration was needed concerning removal of parking on south side of <br />Houston from 3`d NW to 6th NE and Price from 3`d NW to 6th NE. because there <br />may not be enough room for the two -way traffic to travel the streets with parked <br />vehicles on the street. John House appeared before members and stated he <br />owned rental property in 300 and 500 blocks E. Price. Mr. House had concern <br />that residents would not have enough parking if on street parking were prohibited <br />on both sides of the street. Mr. Tuttle informed members that north side of Price <br />is currently no parking. After discussion Ms. Hambtr made a motion to remove <br />parking on south side of Houston from 3`d NW to 6t NE and on Price St. from 3rd <br />NW to 3`d NE. A second was mad by Mr. Ballard and motion carried 5 -0. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item #7 regarding old business. There was none <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to item # 8 regarding any future items. Mr. Kohis had a <br />question concerning through trucks in the city. Mr. Tuttle advised that signs were <br />posted prohibiting through trucks and officers are aware of trucks travelling <br />through the city in violation. Mr. Sander expressed a concern for vehicles turning <br />from the NE Loop onto Park Place St. and asked that TXDOT be contacted about <br />possibly installing a turn lane for turning vehicles. Mr. Shiver also expressed a <br />concern about the road stripping on Loop 286 east and west of S. Collegiate. <br />TXDOT will be notified of this also. <br />Mr. Shiver then moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:48pm. A motion was made by <br />Ms. Hamby and second by Mr. Ballard with motion carrying 5 -0. <br />Date: (� i 0� L 2�11 <br />
