Item No. 22 <br />memorandum <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />DATE: June 17, 2015 <br />BACKGROUND: The Board of Adjustment is created by State Law and codified under Section <br />16 -100 of the City Zoning Ordinance. This Section states in part: "there is hereby created a <br />Board of Adjustment consisting of five (5) members, each to be appointed by resolution of the <br />City Council for a term of two years." The City Council may appoint two alternate members of <br />the Board of Adjustment who shall serve in the absence of one or more of the regular members <br />when requested to do so by the Mayor or City Manager. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Board Members previously appointed to the Board of Adjustment, are as <br />follows: <br />Rick Hundley: as of May 1, 2015, has served 6 years and is term limited - vacant <br />Charles Richards: 3 year term expires June 30, 2015 - vacant <br />_Nathan "Quinton" Bell: 3 year term expires June 30, 2015 - vacant <br />Marilyn Smith: 3 year term expires June 30, 2016, as of June 30, 2015 has served 4 years <br />Jerry Haning: 3 year term expires June 30, 2016, as of June 30. 2015 has served 4 years <br />Bryan Glass: - this board member no longer resides in the city - vacant. <br />David Hamilton: 3 year term expires June 30, 2017, as of June 30, 2017 has served 2 years <br />Applicants: Jerry Haning, Louise W. Hagood, Deanna R. Manning, and Anna Spencer <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint /re- appoint five regular members to the Board. <br />
