Approval of May 2015 fmancials <br />Stephen Grubbs stated that Financials were not available. The PEDC staff has not received the <br />financials from Gene Anderson, Finance Director. <br />Discuss and possibly take action on engaging a forensic auditor to investigate and resolve <br />questions pertaining to the operation of the PEDC <br />The Board discussed engaging a forensic auditor to investigate and resolve any issues or <br />questions pertaining to the PEDC. David Turner made a motion to table this item till the new <br />Board is appointed and there is a full Board. No one seconded; motion failed. Stephen Grubbs <br />stated that he was on the Board when the decision was made in to hire Mr. Defenbaugh. Don <br />Wilson stated that at the last meeting he stated that he would go out and get bids on what it <br />would cost to engage a forensic auditor. Don Wilson stated that in order to start a forensic <br />investigation someone has to bring forward some charges. Based on what you told me I would <br />perform the forensic audit specifically on the objectives to identify operations that may be either <br />identified as noncompliant or fraudulent or both. Dr. Pam Anglin stated that doing this <br />investigation would clear up the issues and questions that people may have as well as bring some <br />closure. Stephen Grubbs stated that he spoke with Jeff Moore, Attorney for the PEDC and �f <br />spoke with Mr. Defenbaugh and his lawyers and they are agreeable to amending their report if <br />the PEDC Board directed them to. There was no mention of any cost. Don Wilson made a <br />motion to bring in Steve Dawson, Dawson Forensic Analytics, PLLC, in the amount of <br />$2,000.00 and at that time make some decisions on hiring Steve Dawson to do a full forensic <br />audit on everything; seconded by John Brockman. Motion Carried 3 -1. <br />Discuss and possibly take action on WorkKeys assessment in response to request from area <br />school districts participation. <br />Stephen Grubbs told those present that Brian Howie, Detroit ISD request the Detroit ISD be <br />considered for taking Workkeys testing as well. In previous Board meetings the Board limited to <br />Lamar County and do we want to open that to schools outside of Lamar County? David Turner <br />made a motion to deny the request stating that he doesn't see how the PEDC could justify <br />spending tax payer money on schools outside of the county; seconded by Don Wilson. Motion <br />Carried 4 -0. <br />Discuss and possibly take action on invoice(s) for legal services from Jeff Moore, Attorney, <br />Brown & Hofineister, LLP and/or A.W. Clem, legaI counsel, the Moore Law Firm <br />1111.1 o=11 made a motion to pay Jeff Moore, Attorney, Brown & Hofineister, LLP in the <br />amount of $2,896.50; seconded by Don Wilson. Motion Carried 3 -1. David Turner made a <br />motion to pay A.W. Clem, legal counsel, the Moore Law Firm in the amount of $450.00; <br />seconded by John Brockman. Motion Carried 4 -0. <br />Dr. Pam Anglin left at 4:05 p.m. <br />
