MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />July 13, 2015 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />July 13, 2015, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufinan, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: A.J. Hashmi <br />Council Members: Billie Lancaster; Benny Plata; Steve Clifford; Matt <br />Frierson; and Edwin Pickle <br />City Staff: John Godwin, City Manager; Gene Anderson, <br />Finance Director; Kent McIlyar, City Attorney; <br />Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Larry Wright, Fire Chief; <br />Bob Hundley, Police Chief; Director; Doug Harris, <br />Utilities Director; and Shawn Napier, City Engineer <br />Absent: Council Member: Aaron Jenkins <br />Opening Agenda <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Hashmi called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. Invocation. <br />Pastor Phil McKay gave the invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Lancaster led the pledge. <br />4. Citizens' Forum. <br />Cindy Allcorn, 870 -S.E. 41St Street, HPC board member — she referenced the HPC rules <br />and said election of their officers in July needed to be rescinded, because their rules say elections <br />of officers must be done in August. <br />Cheri Bedford, Main Street Director — she expressed appreciation to KPB for the flowers <br />in front of city hall. She also asked for anyone wishing to nominate a business for the Texas <br />Treasure Award to contact her. Ms. Bedford informed the public that in order to qualify for the <br />award, the business had to be in operation for fifty or more years. <br />James Price, Shiloh Road — he urged Council to make whatever expenditures were <br />necessary for clean-up of the entire City. <br />
