Item No. 17 <br />memorandum <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />FROM: John Godwin, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: OPERATIONS PLAN UPDATE/UTILITIES <br />DATE: July 16, 2015 <br />BACKGROUND: As part of our annual budgeting /planning process, we try to have each major <br />department present its needs, priorities, and plans to the council to help look at the budget with a <br />longer, broader view. Utilities Director Doug Harris will make a presentation at the July 27 <br />council meeting. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Significant issues include: <br />• Improvements at water treatment plant, including mandated filter work; <br />• Improvements at the wastewater treatment plant; <br />• Lift stations; and <br />• Engineering services and grant & loan applications for a new WWTP. <br />BUDGET: NA <br />RECOMMENDATION: Discussion only. <br />
