Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />The issue of building a new waste water treatment plant <br />has been brought up a number of times and there are <br />diverse opinions, with some people feeling that there is a <br />need for it and others feeling that there isn't a need for <br />it. <br />For the city of Paris, it is means undertaking a huge <br />expense and taxes may actually need to be raised to <br />afford to build this plant. <br />One wants to be 100 % sure that there is a need for a <br />new sewer treatment plant, where it needs to be placed, <br />and what specs would be needed. <br />None of us on the council are experts in this area. We <br />certainly do rely on the city employees who have done a <br />great job at maintaining this plant for a long period of <br />time, but at this time I would propose that we get an <br />independent opinion to come forward and judge the <br />status of our plant and its requirements. This opinion <br />should not come from the people who are in the <br />business of replacement and development of new plants <br />since that opinion will be biased, but should come from <br />
