Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br />May 7, 2015 <br />4:00 pm <br />Members Present: Bobby Walters, Gail Dority, Mike Patterson, Roy Gwinn, Carolyn Patterson, James <br />Brockway, Erik Roddy, Mary Lou Coe, Matt Frierson, Stephen Gerrald, Steve Keywood, Edwin Pickle, <br />Greg Wilson, Raju Patel, Jeff Martin, Josh Bray. <br />Staff Present: Ken Higdon, Gina Crawford, Becky Semple, and Judy Daniel. <br />Bobby Walters called the meeting to order at 4:01 pm. <br />Welcome to new Chamber President, Ken Higdon. <br />Jeff Martin presented the financials. A motion to accept was made by James Brockway, seconded by <br />Roy Gwinn, Motion passed. <br />A motion to approve minutes was made by Mike Patterson, seconded by Mary Lou Coe, Motion passed. <br />NEW BUSINESS — Funding Requests. <br />Funding request from ASA Western Regional Shootout sponsored by Archers for Christ, motion made by <br />Bobby Walters to award $1,750.00, seconded by Mike Patterson, motion approved. <br />Boat Racing with the Southern Drag Boat Association at Lake Crook. Greg Wilson presented the logistics <br />of this event concerning whether to make the commitment of $30,000 or $15,000.00. After short <br />discussion Greg Wilson of the Events Committee made the motion to give the organization $15,000.00 <br />to bring this event in August 2015, Roy Gwinn seconded, motion passed. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Becky Semple reported that 38 states and England were represented at 2015 ASA. There is 2 years left <br />on Paris's current contract with ASA and at this year's event it was negotiated to have the event in Paris <br />for 5 additional years. <br />FUTURE BUSINESS <br />ans memorial contract and also said he spoke with Randy Nation about the number of events at the civic <br />center. Gina Crawford said they are considering doing some marketing. <br />Leadership: Brian Figley reported that all is going well with the class and Leadercast is scheduled for <br />May 8, 2015. <br />Main Street: Cheri Bedford reported about upcoming events. Also stated that volunteer week is April <br />11 -18. <br />Membership: Josh Bray reported that we now have 500 members and he will be keeping up with <br />members gained and lost. Staff will continue to search for new members. <br />
