000461 <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />August 20, 2007 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a special meeting at 6:00 P. M. Monday, <br />August 20, 2007, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Jesse James Freelen <br />Council Members: Mary Ann Fisher; Stephen Brown; Kevin <br />Gray; and Bill Strathern, Mayor Pro Tem <br />City Staff: Ernie Clark, Interim City Manager; Kent <br />McIlyar, City Attorney; and Janice Ellis, <br />City Clerk <br />Absent: Council Members Will Biard and Don Wilson <br />1. Mayor Freelen called the meeting to order. <br />Ernie Clark gave the invocation. <br />2. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Gray led the pledge. <br />3. Presentation of proposed 2007 -2008 Budget by the City Manager for the City. <br />Ernie Clark presented the proposed budget to Council and announced that it would be <br />discussed at the next meeting. <br />4. RESOLUTION NO. 2007 -093: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE CITY MANAGER'S <br />PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007 -2008; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Gray and seconded by Council <br />Member Fisher. Motion carried, 5 ayes - 0 nays. <br />5. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, Council Member Fisher made a Motion to adjourn and <br />Council Member Gray seconded the Motion. Motion carried, 5 ayes - 0 nays. The meeting was <br />adjourned at 6:03 p.m. <br />
