000460 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />August 27, 2007 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 6:00 P. M. Monday, August <br />27, 2007, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Jesse James Freelen <br />Council Members: Will Biard; Mary Ann Fisher; Don Wilson; <br />Stephen Brown; and Bill Strathern <br />City Staff. Ernie Clark; Interim City Manager; Kent <br />McIlyar, City Attorney and Janice Ellis, City <br />Clerk <br />Absent: Council Members: Mary Ann Fisher and Kevin Gray <br />1. Mayor Freelen called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. <br />Ernie Clark gave the invocation. <br />2. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Biard led the pledge. <br />Mayor Freelen asked Council to move item 15 forward, because Judge Hunt had to leave <br />early. A Motion to move item 15 forward was made by Council Member Brown and seconded by <br />Council Member Biard. Motion carried, 5 ayes - 0 nays. Motion carried. <br />15. Oath of Office administered to City Manager Kevin Carruth by Municipal Judge Thomas <br />Hunt III. <br />Judge Hunt administered the Oath of Office to Kevin Carruth. <br />3. Presentation by Pete Kampfer recognizing Rodney Bass and Sims Norment for their service <br />on the Paris Economic Development Corporation Board. <br />Mayor Freelen expressed his appreciation to Mr. Bass and presented him with a plaque. Pete <br />Kampfer stated Sims Norment had been presented a plaque, because he was unable to attend the <br />meeting due to a prior engagement. Mayor Freelen also expressed appreciation for Sims Norment's <br />service on the board. <br />
