RESOLUTION NO. 2007 -049: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, THROUGH THE ARK -TEX COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, FOR A VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $95,749.00, WITH THE CITY OF PARIS PROVIDING $79,585.00 IN THE FORM OF IN-KIND SERVICES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND' PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Council Member Freelen inquired if the total amount was for Lamar County. Chief Louis told the Council that the Police Department worked jointly with Family Haven and the majority of the cases were within the city. Kent Mcllyar apprised Council the amount of in -kind services had changed from $79,040.00 to $79,585.00. RESOLUTION NO. 2007 -050: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN EXECUTIVE SEARCH AGREEMENT WITH THE PACE GROUP TO CONDUCT A SEARCH FOR A NEW CITY MANAGER; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Gray and seconded by Council Member Fisher. Council Member Fendley favored putting a cap on the fee charged by the Pace Group. Mayor Manning said he did not think they needed a cap, because the Council would have the final decision as to how much to pay the new city manager. Council Member Wilson said he had concern about the administrative fees Pace charged in the amount of $500.00 per month for postage, telephone and administrative fees. Ernie Clark expressed concern about delay of the process.
