4 3 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING AND <br />ZONING COMMISSION <br />JANUARY 5, 2004 <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, January 5, 2004, 5:30 <br />P.M., Paris Junior College, Bobby R. Walters Applied Technology Building, <br />Room 1206, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas with the following members <br />present: <br />1. <br />Reeves Hayter <br />5. <br />Louis Yates <br />2. <br />Barbara Forrest <br />6. <br />Marshall Kent <br />3. <br />Brad Archer <br />7. <br />Bobby Myers <br />4. <br />Cleveland Thomas <br />8. <br />Russell McCain <br />Steve Metheven, the Building Official was also present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. <br />1. There was no December, 2003 meeting. The minutes from the <br />November 3, 2003, regular planning and zoning meeting were <br />approved with a motion by Bobby Myers and seconded by Louis Yates. <br />Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Wanda Whitaker for a <br />change in zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to <br />a Neighborhood Service District (NS), Lot 14, Block C, Lamesa Heights <br />Addition, being number 2235 Sycamore Street. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Wanda Whitaker, 2235 Sycamore, spoke in favor of the petition stating <br />that she would like to put a small hair salon in her back yard. Ms. <br />Whitaker would be the only one working there. Ms. Whitaker plans to <br />build an extra driveway to take care of parking and there would only <br />be 2 cars parked at a time. <br />Jeff Merritt, 2225 Sycamore, spoke in favor of the petition stating that <br />there are positive things to the change.
