City Attorney Schenk advised that their position is the building has value and <br />this is a Real Estate Firm that is representing the Postal Service for the sale <br />the building and they are trying to do the best job for their client. He said the <br />$559,000.00 is an appraisal that they had done and it is not an appraisal that the <br />city has access to. City Attorney Schenk said in the latest correspondence <br />received it was indicated that after February 13' there will be a public offering <br />stage of the process, but that does not keep the city or anyone that is a qualified <br />public entity from making an offer at any time. City Attorney Schenk explained <br />that there will be certain restraints on what can be done with the building <br />regardless of who purchases the building, which will preserve some of the <br />historical significance of the structure. <br />City Attorney Schenk presented the following rezoning petitions: Max <br />Killingsworth, Jr., Lot 4, City Block 257 -A, from a One - Family Dwelling <br />District No. 2 to a Multiple - Family Dwelling No. 1 District; Eric Clifford, Lot <br />1, City Block 313, from Agricultural District to Commercial District; Tammie <br />Green, Lot 10A, City Block 75, from a Two - Family Dwelling District to a One - <br />Family Dwelling District No. 3 with Specific Use Permit (39) Mobile Homes. <br />Mayor Pfiester referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />for their study and recommendation at their meeting scheduled for March 5, <br />2001 and before the City Council March 8, 2001. <br />City Manager Malone reported that regarding the salary survey that city staff <br />was in the process of working on the survey with Waters Consulting Firm out <br />of Dallas and hoped to have it finished by mid February. <br />Mayor Pfiester reminded the public about the public hearing scheduled <br />regarding Lake Crook on February 13, 2001 at 6:00 P. M. at the Love Civic <br />Center. <br />There being no further business; a motion was made by Councilman Bell, <br />seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Manning, to adjourn the meeting. <br />
