5.3 <br />PARKING ZONE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br />-PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 2001, WAS PRESENTED. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, <br />for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2001-004 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A MAXIMUM, REASONABLE RATE OF <br />SPEED ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS AND <br />HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF PARIS; PROVIDING <br />FOR A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 1, 2001, WAS <br />PRESENTED. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, <br />for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ms. Ann Gilliland appeared before the City Council inviting them to the Artrain <br />USA's opening reception and activities planned for February 15 -18, 2001, by-the <br />Paris Area.Arts Alliance and displayed a poster that will be place around town. Ms. <br />Gilliland gave the City Council a schedule of events for the Artrain. Ms. Gilliland <br />said there will be students that are in the six grade coming from the Lamar County <br />Schools and Mt. Vernon has requested that they bring their, students as well and there <br />may be a request from Honeygrove. Ms. Gilliland advised that public tours will take <br />place Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 A. M. to 5:00 P. M. Ms. Gilliland again <br />extended an invitation to the City Council. <br />Wes Tidwell a partner with the Moore Law Firm, 100 N. Main Street, appeared <br />before the City Council handing out a series of information for the City Council <br />
