Mr. Becker said if you are a person out there, or a shipper or vendor and you <br />are already established with Kiamichi and everything that you will be hearing from <br />Fannin District at this time is they want to increase jobs, have a warehouse come in <br />and many other things. Mr. Becker advised the city that they have those facts right <br />now from the Kiamichi Railroad who would provide that right now. Mr. Becker said <br />they have five day service at this time and if this is taken- way, you do not have a <br />guarantee that will happen again. He said what you would be giving up is what you <br />have proof of right now. Mr. Becker said as far as competition, you might want to <br />look at that because if they can not get to all of the classes, the ones like we have <br />access to right now with B &SF, UB at Grant for the west market, UT at Hope <br />Arkansas for the east market, Kansas City from the north to south to the Louisiana <br />and Gulf areas. Mr. Becker stated that the city has everything they are asking for. He <br />-said the City has all the class ones that you could ask for, you have competition and <br />you have a reasonable rate. Mr. Becker asked that the City to do a lot more research <br />by asking customers in the city and make sure what he is saying is true. <br />After further discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by <br />Councilman McCarthy to table action on this resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />— Resolution No. 2001 -010, affirming that the City of Paris has complied with the <br />requirements of the Public Funds Investment Act; amending the City's investment <br />policy; making other findings and provisions related to the subject, and providing for <br />an effective dated, was presented. A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, <br />seconded by Councilman Bell, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />
